2024 NFL Draft Grades: Meme Edition
Draft grades are the worst.
For as much preparation as we do to get ready for the draft each year, no one has any clue what’s going to happen with these rookie classes. Russell Wilson’s rookie class with the Seattle Seahawks was given an “F” grade right before going on to win a Super Bowl.
We can speculate all we want, but at the end of the day we won’t know much about these draft classes until a few years down the road.
Instead of taking this too seriously, here are my meme reactions to each team’s draft class.
Congrats to the Cardinals for doing the right thing and taking the best player in this draft in Marvin Harrison Jr..
A quarterback with the eighth pick and then traded up to take a developmental defensive lineman in the second round. After giving Kirk Cousins a $180 million contract.
Just…why?
The Ravens keep getting nasty dudes on their defense and offensive line. It’s amazing how consistent they are with this.
The Bills took a ton of my favorite players (Edefuan Ulofoshio, Sedrick Van Pran, Ray Davis) and some good value with guys like Keon Coleman and DeWayne Carter.
For a team with so much pressure on them after parting ways with so many veterans, they came out of this draft with some legitimately good players.
I’m sorry that your owner broke the speedrun record for worst owner in the NFL, Panthers fans. At least you’ll always have this guy (and some fun offensive weapons for Bryce Young.)
It’s unbelievable that the Bears had a good draft despite taking a punter in the fourth round.
Unfortunately, the punter is very fun, and the Caleb Williams/Rome Odunze combination might end up being deadly for years to come.
Amarius Mims AND Kris Jenkins? The Bengals are loading up in the trenches.
I get that they didn’t have a first-round pick. However, outside of Michael Hall Jr., there’s nothing in this draft that excites me.
The look of pride you give when you rebuilt your entire offensive line just to re-sign Ezekiel Elliott to average 3.5 yards per carry.
Sean Payton is addicted to trading up in the draft. It doesn’t matter if it’s generally considered an unwise long-term team building strategy if you keep doing it.
Dan Campbell loves his intense football players. Pretty much every pick the Lions made fits that bill.
Packers bias aside, this is the exact kind of draft they needed. After adding another starting-caliber OL in the first, the Packers got my top-ranked safety and LB in the second round. Plus a fun change-of-pace back in MarShawn Lloyd.
Bonus Meme:
“Introducing your new Packers cornerback, K. King.”
No frills. Just solid players everywhere to build around the young quarterback.
Chris Ballard to the anonymous sources bashing AD Mitchell’s character.
I’m not sure why, but the Jacksonville Jaguars can’t stop drafting LSU players, including another three in this draft.
When Patrick Mahomes saw that Brett Veach got him another receiver and offensive tackle.
The eternal fire of Al Davis is displeased that the Raiders didn’t take Xavier Worthy.
I can’t believe how many really good players the Chargers got.
First time the Rams used their first-round pick since I was still in college. A new era for Les Snead has begun.
Adding Jaylen Wright to a backfield with De’Von Achane and Raheem Mostert feels unfair.
This is all I can think of whenever I see JJ McCarthy. I can’t help it.
The Patriots were hellbent on adding as much offensive firepower around Drake Maye as possible.
And honestly? I respect the move.
Derek Carr and Spencer Rattler in the same quarterback room? I’m sure nothing will go wrong here!
This is the face Daniel Jones made when he saw what Malik Nabers was saying about him.
Vibes are fine in New York. Don’t worry about it.
The Jets appeased Aaron Rodgers by taking offensive players with their first five picks. They also deserve some credit for taking a top-tier offensive tackle when they could have traded up for a receiver.
I don’t understand how Howie Roseman keeps getting away with this.
Quinyon Mitchell at 22 and Cooper DeJean at 40? This is unfair.
Tripling up on offensive lineman after moving on from a bunch of starters. That’s the right move after bringing in approximately 17 quarterbacks to compete for the starting job.
Getting really tired of the 49ers taking players that I love. Dominick Puni and Malik Mustapha will be awesome players on that roster.
Pete Carroll is smiling somewhere seeing the Seahawks take a couple of cornerbacks while loading up in the trenches.
I might have overlooked Tampa Bay’s draft until right now. I love so many players going down this list, from Graham Barton and Chris Braswell to Bucky Irving and Jalen McMillan.
Well done.
Brock Osweiler is Mike Vrabel seeing the Titans drafting a bunch of players that he would have loved to coach. Big, mean, SOBs like JC Latham and T’Vondre Sweat. Even a sleeper linebacker in Cedric Gray.
It’s not fair.
This is going to be Jayden Daniels when he realizes he doesn’t get to throw to Malik Nabers and Brian Thomas Jr. anymore.
Get ready to learn Luke McCaffrey and Zach Ertz, buddy.
