23 - The Big B & NJB (a Banana Blog!)
Darn! A missed opportunity. Alas, I am too far down The Big C path to turn back now. And I am not sure how sustainable a Big B Banana Blog would be. Whereas, let’s face it, I can keep writing about me! pretty much ad nauseam.
Still - had I known that bananas! even hospital floors! would generate so much lively reader traction, I might have blogged about them first. A few minutes here to muse on what I could have! should have! done and then I will move on….
The Mini B & NJB (a Banana Blogette!)
In this blogette, I am going to get straight to the point which I realize will be both refreshing and unexpected.
How many sides does a banana have?
The answer is
Oh, wait! Let me first mention that at the American Legion Trivia Nite there is NO arguing with the Official Answer. A few have tried and the result is we – by which I mean a group of perhaps 120 Oldsters (including some highly decorated Oldsters) - have been roundly chastised. So! Do not send me a carefully cross-sectioned and preserved slice of four-sided banana and expect to sway me.
The Official Answer is: FIVE.
However, here’s some food for thought that is open for discussion:
Any other fruits/vegetables with can-be-counted sides?
Speaking of sides, are bananas a divisive, two-distinct-camps food? Like cilantro? Or truffle salt. Love? Hate? But very little middle ground?
