A drama filled candy: Pixy Stix

As many know, one of the fastest ways to consume powdery sugar all at once is with Pixy Stix. Initially beginning as a drink mix, the candy worked its way into becoming a ruiner of Halloween and was eventually banned in some schools for concerns about motivating drug use.
With no intention of Pixy Stix becoming a candy, the powdered mix was first placed into a paper straw during The Great Depression in the 1930s. Kool-Aid was created a few years earlier to reduce shipping costs with a lightweight powder. It was affordable and stretched an almost nonexistent budget while sugar was being rationed for WWII.
