Buck 30 - EmptyCases Substack

Today Silencer Central released a new suppressor called the Buck 30. This new addition to their Banish line of suppressors was conceived to offer high performance at a reasonable price, and they’ve teamed with Buck Commander to make this happen.

I visited Silencer Central last month and got to test the Buck 30, and I compared it side by side with the Banish 30 ($999) and the Banish Backcountry ($1099). From a recoil reduction standpoint, the Banish 30 was the best, but there was not enough difference to really matter. The Banish 30 did seem to suppress the sound a bit more as well, but by no means was the Buck 30 loud. This, in additional to the modular construction of the Banish 30 is why it costs $300 more. Watch the video and make noise and recoil comparisons for yourself.

The Buck 30 is a multi-caliber, welded stainless steel suppressor, that measures 6.9 inches long and 1.54-inches in diameter. It weighs 13.8 ounces, is available with six different thread mount options, and will work with everything from a 17 HMR up to a 300 Winchester Magnum. According to Silencer Central, when paired with an 18-inch barreled 308 Winchester you can expect well under the hearing safe limit of 140 decibels at the ear. It’s also equipped with an accuracy baffle to minimize point of impact shift between suppressed and unsuppressed fire.

The Buck 30 is noteworthy partly because its offers the high quality you would expect from the Silencer Central line of Banish suppressors at an affordable price of only $699. This means that you can get a top drawer suppressor for less than a grand, even with the $200 tax you must pay, just so you can protect your hearing and cut down on noise pollution. If Silencer Central had named the thing the COVID CAN, hell, the current administration might have suspended the $200 tax and even allowed you to deduct the price of the suppressor from your income taxes.

The other reason the Buck 30 is noteworthy is that it extends the mission of Silencer Central, which is to make the purchase of quality suppressors easy. Now, not only can you purchase a best quality 0.30-caliber suppressor from Silencer Central and never leave you home – it can actually be mailed right to your doorstep – you don’t have to spend as much money to make it happen.

NOTE: What a new suppressor needs to go with it is a new, good shooting rifle that’s even more affordable. I know of one that’s in the works and should be available by the time the ATF approves your Buck 30 paperwork. I’ll keep you posted.
