GAMENOTES: Charlotte Hornets (18-54) vs. Golden State Warriors (38-34)

Charlotte Hornets 97 (18-55) - Golden State Warriors 115 (39-34)

  • The Warriors killed the Hornets in the paint punishing them in transition, off cuts and moving the ball early in the shot clock. The Warriors scored 58 points on 78% shooting in the restricted area and 64 points in the paint. The starting unit in particular couldn't stop anybody doing anything. They finished -18 for the game and a defensive rating of 148. They simply weren't ready to guard.

  • The Hornets, meanwhile, took most of their shots from outside and lost their shooting touch as quickly as they found it. Brandon Miller began the game 0-7. The team shot 26% from 3 for the game...on 46! attempts. Davis Bertans was the only Hornet to shoot over 30%.

  • Steph Curry was happy to be a decoy in the first half, taking all the defensive attention and turning it into plays for others. In the 3rd quarter he looked for his own offense and found it scoring 12 of his 23 points to help the Warriors pull away from the Hornets.

  • Davis Bertans is wearing a mask after getting hit in the face against Cleveland. He looks like Bertman.

  • Golden State came in fighting to stay in the play in race in the West
