Good Vibrations? The Strange Activity of the Schumann Resonance
Our Mother, who art in the heart of the earthly realm,
May the holiness of they name shine anew in our remembering.
May the Breath of thy awakening kingdom warm the hearts of all who wander homeless.
May the resurrection of they will renew eternal faith even unto the depths of physical substance…..
- Valentin Tomberg
I have written previously about my childhood hatred for mathematics, followed in turn by my adult discovery that numbers are qualitative symbols, not mere quantitative markers. This discovery opened new worlds for me, leading me to a new appreciation for numbers and their archetypical meanings. I found a new a passion for sacred geometry and Hebrew Gematria and other manifestations of the underlying patterns of the universe—the key to all of which were formerly despised numbers!
Moreover, I learned about the ancient study of the quadrivium of arithmetic, geometry, music, and astronomy—or the relation of numbers to one another, numbers in space, number in sound, and number in cosmic rhythms.
Together with the trivium of logic, grammar, and rhetoric, these four disciplines formed the seven liberal arts. More than just intellectual curiosities, these studies formed a spiritual initiation into higher realms of the soul and the cosmos. Their study was no mere utilitarian means to a “good job” or “career path.” They were rather designed to form a complete and free human being who understood the relationship between the microcosm and the macrocosm, above and below.
I write all of this as preparatory remarks about the rather strange happenings in the Schumann resonance. While I am no expert in this scientific phenomenon, and I am still studying it, the simplest explanation is that it is a way of measuring the electromagnetic frequency generated by the Earth.
This frequency oscillates, but , historically, consistently remains within the range of 7.83 Hz to 33.8 Hz. Due to the human heart’s generation of a similar electromagnetic field, this pulse has often been referred to as “the Earth’s heartbeat.” To scientists, this is a naturally occurring phenomenon and nothing more.
Unsurprisingly, however, those inclined to see the cosmos as living community of beings, rather than a lifeless collection of soulless objects, see a deeper significance. These individuals have latched onto to this natural phenomenon as a confirmation that the Earth is alive.
For it seems no coincidence that these harmonic frequency align, more or less some say, with the frequencies of the human brain. Scientists interested in such phenomena are studying if there is a correlation between shifts in the resonance and human behavior. Be that as it may, an enthusiastic community of observers monitors the shifting frequencies of the Earth with scientific instruments, with some even listening to sounds tuned to these frequencies as a way to harmonize their microcosm with the macrocosm.
And that leads me to what is happening in the Schumann resonance now. Starting this past Sunday, June 18, to Monday, June 19, the frequencies of the Earth started unexpectedly generating geometric patterns, as seen below.
By comparison, the frequencies normally appears as incoherent static to the human eye, as seen here in an image taken from 2020:
Interestingly, there have been significant and unusual spikes in the frequency in recent years, including in 2017 and 2020—but nothing quite like what was seen this week.
What is the possible significance of this strange occurrence? Could these intricate electromagnetic pulses simply be random? It depends on what one is prone to believe. Many are already speculating on potential causes, with some saying the resonance is a product of man-made activity or interference. This explanation is not entirely surprising, as many are eager to explain away any event that defies a scientistic paradigm. Design implies intelligence, but it is naive to assume that human intelligence is the only form in the cosmos.
One is free to believe or not believe what one will. Whatever these patterns are, however, they are not random. It is interesting to note that the geometric shapes formed the past few days appear to be forming patterns based on intervals of 6 and 12. Extended into three dimensions, these frequencies appear to form toroidal vortexes, merkabah, and other symbols known to sacred geometry. Six can be seen as a number of creation—of two trinities meeting fruitfully and bringing forth life. And at least one meaning of 12 is that of covenant—the 12 tribes of Israel of the Old Covenant and the 12 Apostles as the foundation of the New Covenant.
Combining these significances strikes me as the beginning of a new cycle of creative activity, of fruitful covenantal love between God and humanity. That is, if we accept it and respond as such, for there is always a choice among free creatures.
This happening’s coincidence with the Summer solstice tomorrow, June 21, seems far from random. As the Earth touches a still point, a turning toward darkness and new seasons, it seems to mark a turning, the beginning of a shift in the activity of the Earth and of humanity. As I wrote only recently, the Mother is ascending from the center of the Earth, and with her comes new creative impulses.
That, at least, is my interpretation, and only one among many possible significances. There is much more to study and meditate upon, and I have only begun to look into this in more detail. If you have a different interpretation or more information you would like to share, I would be welcome your input in the comments.
