This Newton staple is known to have an extensive menu full of options from single, double or triple patty burgers you can customize with all the popular add-ons, signature burgers, wraps, every appetizer you could ever want, shakes, and deli sandwiches. I mean, Im probably missing something because they’ve got it all. It can be a bit daunting to be honest but rest assured the food is good and with great quality ingredients.

The restaurant is clean and open with plenty seating all over. It shares pride for its home city with a mural and memorabilia as decoration.
My only complaint would be Gurdy’s hours. Monday through Thursday they’re only open for 3 1/2 hours and the signage out front displaying those hours are hard to read. Several customers were upset they were closed but good news is they’ve announced they’ll be extending hours soon!
For my meal I went with just a basic burger with onions, pickles, ketchup and mustard. And double patty’s with cheese of course. I wanted to go with a tempting signature burger but instead kept it simple for today. My side of choice was sweet potato fries.
What I learned is there’s beauty in a simple burger done right. And that’s what this was. The bun had a perfect toast to it and wasn’t soggy or falling apart. The meat is locally sourced from a butcher, it was seasoned well and cooked perfect. The cheese, I mean look at it, YUM. Just the melted mess I look for! Veggies were fresh and completed topped off a solid burger. The sweet potato fries we cooked perfect with no grease or oils. A crisp fry with great flavor.
If you’re ever in the neighborhood, this burger spot is one you won’t be disappointed in!
