"High Demand" vs "Low Demand" religions

This exchange was interesting. In terms of ROI, I think terms like High v Low demand are useful. A PHd’s inability to sidestep their own personal biases is also useful.
Here is the original tweet:
People who LEAVE refer to it as high demand. Does that mean that people who stay don’t feel the same way?
FourSquare & Catholocism are high-demand - even though others seldom refer to them as such. That’s funny.
Tina isn’t a PhD but attempted to introduce a data-based argument into the discussion. +1
Still can’t figure out why no one considers her church “high-demand” except her…citing confession.
Adding clarity:
Struck a nerve…
Amy seems to be a bit more objective as a Catholic who lives among LDS people and honestly assesses the disparities:
I actually think 5 was a charitable number - but you already know how the Dr. is going to take this…by not addressing what was said and throwing out the dumbest non-salient riposte she could think of…
Lol, this isn’t a doctrinal question. It would be like asking Catholics when Mary first felt the baby kick and then claiming that the inconsistent answers were proof that Catholics don’t know their doctrine.
Of course, I don’t expect a response and wasn’t disappointed. She responded only to Non-LDS people on this thread.
There were some that were thrilled to leave a high demand church in favor of a low demand church:
Where little is given, little should be expected.
More wisdom from the non PHds:
Props to perpetual dumbass for coining a better description: Lower Stakes
Joseph Smith said, “Let us here observe, that a religion that does not require the sacrifice of all things, never has power sufficient to produce the faith necessary unto life and salvation.”
Before you react with a statement about Christ’s “unconditional” love - keep in mind it isn’t the same thing as Christ’s unconditional blessings or Christ’s unconditional rewards. Those do not exist.
Look at the life of Jesus Christ, the Apostles, the Prophets, the Martyrs and tell me that they couldn’t have chosen a low demand faith over the gospel of Jesus Christ. Tell me they believed they were “worthy” because they were human.
They knew the stakes couldn’t be higher… & they chose to behave accordingly. We should do likewise.
