At the heart of most of my songs, lies a country song.

At the heart of most of my songs, lies also, a reggae song.

I grew up listening to both of these genres and what makes them so special to me, is that either genre can produce some of the most beautiful songs while also producing some of the most horrendously stupid shit you’ve ever heard! I think theres a lot of humanity in that! Theres something about having the guts to make something nice, without surrendering your sense of humor for the sake of a song, or a piece of art. I think an audience connects with that too! If you’re having fun, they’re having fun. Most of the time.

This song, is one of my favorite songs in the world. I have the title tattooed on my chest actually! You’ve heard it in Jackass, so you probably relate it to being severely injured and getting back up to do the stunt again. Thats how I initially heard it too! But as I grow older, every time I hear this song it means so much more to me than falling off of a skateboard. To me, it’s about taking risks and recognizing that if you fail, you need to wipe the dirt off your shirt and try again. I guess thats basically like falling off of a skateboard.
