Josh Crawford expected to leave Georgia Tech for new job at Georgia

Per 247Sports’ Matt Zenitz, Georgia is expected to hire former Georgia Tech wide receivers coach Josh Crawford the position of running backs coach.

Crawford has been one of the more familiar names in the state of Georgia for the past decade and a half. He broke into the coaching ranks at the high school level, establishing his footprint across the state of Georgia. He spent time at Greater Atlanta Christian, Jefferson County, Colquitt County, Lee County, and Valdosta before making the jump to the college ranks.

Crawford made the jump to Western Kentucky outside receivers coach and getting promoted to co-offensive coordinator in 2022. Crawford coached two wide receivers in the 2021 season at Western Kentucky — Jerreth Sterns and Mitchell Tinsley — who finished with 1,400-plus receiving yards. He had a third receiver Malachi Corley go for 1,200 yards in 2022.

In his one season in Atlanta, Crawford oversaw a room that was led by freshman Eric Singleton Jr, who finished top-10 in the ACC for receiving with 714 yards on 48 catches.
