Ravonna Renslayer's Many Faces
Judge Ravonna Renslayer set out on a quest at the end of Loki season one after we were introduced to her as a variant of the Vice Principle of Franklin D. Roosevelt High School. After first appearing in comics in 1963, Ravonna Renslayer has adopted a number of versions.
Ravonna Renslayer first appeared in Avengers #23 in 1963. In the 40th century, Ravonna is the princess of the kingdom of Carelius. As Kang the Conqueror continues his domination of Earth, Ravonna’s kingdom resists his conquest. Kang attempts to subdue Ravonna and her kingdom, but she will not submit and she will not accept his proposal of marriage.
During the continued conflict between Ravonna and Kang, they grow fond of one another. Kang lets his guard slip and one of his commands attempts a coup. Ravonna intervenes and saves his life at the expense of her own.
A young Kang travels back in time to the Egyptian period and is immediately overpowered by the advanced technology and soldiers of Rama-Tut. Kang is only saved by the intervention of Ravonna as Moon Knight of the Egyptian period. Khonshu has chosen Ravonna to oppose the tyrannical rule of Rama-Tut (who also happens to be an older version of Kang the Conqueror).
In the future, Ravonna takes on the role of Terminatrix. She is an assassin with a technologically advanced suit that allows her to travel to the regions of Alioth and pose as Kang-Nebula to rule Kang’s kingdom.
Travelling through time and space, Terminatrix learns the secrets of Kang and is a member of the cross-time council of Kangs. When she encounters Kang and herself from the future, she turns off the life support machine keeping her future self alive.
When Kang the Conqueror is taken by his older self to a pre-historic era, he encounters Ravonna as a hunter in a time of dinosaurs. The young Kang stands alongside a warrior Ravonna of a pre-historic civilisation and battles a dinosaur.
Once they are victorious, Ravonna takes Kang to her settlement. Kang learns of the earliest stages of early human development and its mixture of magic and superstition. Ravonna has survived in a savage world.
The Revelation rules over her own kingdom. She is an advanced being who, accompanied by her son, manipulates the Avengers into stopping her past self from resuscitating Kang the Conqueror.
She uses utilizes any means necessary to achieve her aims and can draw on a wealth of knowledge and highly advanced technology.
In a future of unrelenting war and misery, Ravonna battles against an assortment of barbaric megabeasts and horribly mutated humans.
The ruthless Arbalest exerts his will over the remaining survivors in the post-nuclear world. Ravonna will not be ruled and stands against the tyrant and his hordes of mindless soldiers. Her brutal style of fighting and knowledge of ancient technologies serves her in a war against Arbalest and ensures that, regardless of the odds, Ravonna Renslayer will continue her unrelenting pursuit of truth and justice.
Ravonna Renslayer is a strong and resourceful opponent. She is powerful and relentless in any form. Having left the TVA at the end of Loki season one, Ravonna is determined to find the person responsible for creating the Timekeepers. She pruned Mobius with whom she had a close relationship, suggesting that Ravonna will do whatever is necessary to achieve her goal. And she does have a very big gun.
