The Bryce Eldridge Breakout is Here!
Allow me to take a bow for my May 9 Minor Lines post, which included such lines as:
It looks like the timing is starting to lock in for young Bryce Eldridge…The past two nights have looked more like the guy I saw in spring… you can see the difference in his body language in the box. He’s getting the swagger going now, and there’s a real sense of “I am going to destroy you!” confidence in that big frame as he stares out at the pitcher…It feels like the breakout might be here.
Folks, the breakout is most definitely here! That’s just part of a weekend that has really helped turn the vibe around for the org from both the performance and player development points of view. There are a lot of things we can say about the weekend at the major league level, but I think that one major lesson to take away is that guys figure things out at their own pace, and it’s hard to know exactly when corners have been turned for real.
So let’s say “Adios!” to a few pelotas, and see if we can identify some of the positive trends taking place on the farm this weekend.
HITTER of the WEEKEND: Bryce Eldridge (SJ), 4 for 9, 2 HR (5), 9 RBI, 3 R, 1 BB
PITCHER of the WEEKEND: Carson Ragsdale (Rich), 5.0 IP, 3 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 9 K
Hang on, that’s the wrong pelota for this forum …. let’s try this one instead. “Adios!”
