I am a big horror fan, and if there is one type of story that gives me goosebumps, it's a true crime story. When researching this particular case, I thought it will never get to me but this disturbing story not only caught my attention but also sent my stomach into a twist. When I read the details, I began to feel grossed out and horrified by what these two brothers did. This is story about a pair of Pakistani brothers who practised cannibalism and excavated nearly 150 graves in order to consume human flesh and make curry out of it.

This was Pakistan's first known case of cannibalism.

The brothers, Arif Ali, 31, and Farman Ali, 35, who are accused of being cannibals, resided with their mentally ill sister, Nusrat. Given their circumstances, it is evident that the two men, who are the sons of small-scale landowner, have not led very stable lives; Arif divorced his wife a few years ago, and she took their son with her when she left the house, and some years ago, Farman's wife moved home with her parents after splitting up with him and their five kids. According to villagers, Farman Ali, the eldest brother, is allegedly a heroin addict, while Arif, like his sister, has a mental illness.

It first became known in 2011 when the body of a 24-year-old woman had vanished from her grave. Alarm was raised when the family of Saira Perveen, 24, who was laid to rest, went back to the cemetery the next day only to discover that the soil on her grave had been pressed in and her body was gone.
