The True Cost of Taking the LSAT

You may have noticed it has been some time since the last true blog-style post to I’ve Ben Thinking. There are a lot of factors at play, but the most exciting update to share is that through my writing cooperative, the Zenith Cooperative, I have been working with my outstanding mentor and public health writer Abdullah Shihipar to learn more about what it takes to become a published writer. The biggest focus has been on learning how to draft and sell freelance pitches. With Abdullah’s help, I have already crafted my first two pitches. No editors have taken the bait yet, but I am determined and will keep pitching until they do.

Why does this matter for IBT? It changes my approach to my Substack a tiny bit. The more in-depth, researched types of post that are my favorite to write, such as a brief history of environmental racism in Syracuse and the reasons why we need to expand the House of Representatives, are going to be saved for pitches for the foreseeable future.
